Visitors must make arrangements with the Station Manager for the combination to open a locked gate 200-yards off of hwy 89 (map).

Station facilities include 53 year-round beds. All sleeping areas & most buildings are fully winterized & have propane heat. Beds are twin size with the exception of limited faculty space with full or queen size. There are also up to 10 tent-camping spaces available within the station.

The 1.8 mi. entrance road is unpaved and snow is not removed for at least part of the winter. Snowshoes, skis, the station snowmobiles & snow-cat may be used to access Sagehen between roughly November to May.

On-site station facilities have been recently renovated & include:

Electricity with back-up generator
Telephone for local calls (card required for long-distance; no cell-phone service in basin)
Wireless network with satellite Internet service
Computer lab (6-PCs, 1-Mac, 3-GIS machines, plotter, printer & wide scanner)
Classrooms: 2 indoor, 1 outdoor (accomodates up to 125 people)
Communal kitchen, office space, decks, Fish Observation Facility...
