The Central Sierra Field Research Stations is a regional group of field research and education reserves managed by UC Berkeley. The properties are located on both sides of the crest of California’s Sierra-Nevada mountains, north of Lake Tahoe . CSFRS includes:
- Sagehen Creek Field Station
- Central Sierra-Nevada Snow Lab
- Chickering-American River Reserve
- North Fork Association Lands
- Onion Creek Experimental Forest

THE NORTH FORK OF THE AMERICAN RIVER
Several of the CSFRS properties lie within the headwaters of the North Fork of the American River. The information on this CSFRS website is mostly about these properties, since Sagehen and the Snow Lab have their own websites.
On September 26, 2006, a consortium of land owners and managers including: the North Fork Association, Chickering Parnership, USDA Forest Service Tahoe National Forest, US Forest Service Pacific Southwest Research Station, and Regents of the University of California signed a Conservation and Research Agreement (with Cover Letter) addressing future cooperative management of the approximately 19,670 acres of public and private lands in this watershed.
